Whatever... Rush Limbaugh declares his health is fine - and so is nation's health care system.Conservative radio loudmouth Rush Limbaugh learned this week there's nothing wrong with his heart - and there's nothing wrong with the nation's health care system.
At a New Year's Day news conference in Honolulu, Limbaugh said Friday that tests revealed nothing medically wrong with his heart.
Severe chest pains landed him in a Hawaii hospital Wednesday.
"The pain was real, and they don't know what caused it," Limbaugh said.
Doctors said he did not have a heart attack and he doesn't suffer from heart disease.
Turning from his health to politics, Limbaugh declared Friday he got the best health treatment in the world "right here in the United States of America."
"I don't think there's one thing wrong with the United States health system," Limbaugh said.I saw part of that news conference on TV, and Rush also said he wasn't given special treatment. Bullshit. 2009 Reading/Watching Report HAPPY NEW YEAR and HAPPY NEW DECADE to everyone on my friends list. I'm happy because my Auburn Tigers just won a fantastic (and fantastical) football game. I hope everyone had safe and festive times last night and that your year is the best ever. For the second year in a row, I kept lists of the books I read and movies I watched. I know I probably missed some, but here are the numbers as I recorded them: Books read: 47 (down from 106) Books read for the first time: 29 Rereads: 18 Fiction: 32 Nonfiction: 15 Best new book read: The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman, I guess Movies watched: 56 (down from 122) In theaters: 4 For the first time: 29 Re-watches: 27 Best new (to me) movie watched: Serenity!! Best new movie watched in the theater: Hmmm ... The Princess and the FrogTV season DVDs watched: 20/7 shows (up from 12/3 shows) For the first time: 20 Re-watches: 0 Best new (to me) show watched: OMG Firefly!!! Plays seen in theaters: 3Best production: South Pacific, Broadway Last year I was amazed that for the first time ever I watched more movies than I read books. This year not only did I repeat that, I also read/watched shockingly few of either - less than half of last year's total. Instead I spent the whole year making up for 15 years worth of not watching TV. I also attended one football game (Rice/Vanderbilt) and, umm, I think that's about it. Current Mood: optimistic |

They Had No Idea
The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, January 11, 2001, during the monologue: Here's an unusual story. Over the weekend, international terrorist Osama bin Laden -- d'ya know this guy? -- made a rare public appearance at the wedding of his son in Afganistan. The couple was registered at "Beds, Bombs and Beyond".It didn't get much of a laugh, and Jay commented that it was a slow news day. Current Mood: pensive |

hmm, good question
I have a difficult time getting my mind around the idea of a mystical atheism. However, a spiritual realm does not necessarily postulate the necessity of a God. On the other hand, a spiritual/mystic realm might indicate gods. Which brings the question does atheism rule out the existence of god or only GOD? Dan Radcliffe on Regis and Kelly
Just in case you missed it the first time, Dan Radcliffe will be on Regis and Kelly this morning, in a repeat segment. It will probably be movie Half-Blood Prince related. Regis and Kelly shows here at 9AM Eastern time; check your local listings. I imagine it's also on-line somewhere. Current Mood: awake |

I've Got Another One
I was watching an episode of "Ghost Whisperer" called "Home but Not Alone". There was a young actress who(m?) I knew I recognized, but didn't know from where. I didn't recognize any of the names of the guests actresses, except Mimi Kennedy, and I knew it wasn't her. So I looked it up. She's Hallee Hirsh, who played Rachel Green, Dr. Green's daughter, on "ER". I always thought it was funny that she had the same name as one of the "Friends" characters. Both NBC shows, too. Hmmm..... I always go "Ghost Whisperer-er-er-er-er" in my head, LOL. Kind of like Sorerer-er-er-er's Stone, LOL. Current Mood: cheerful |
